Christmas Magic and Music at Portway House

Christmas has a special way of filling Portway House with warmth, joy and a sense of togetherness. As the festive season continues, the home has been alive with music, laughter and shared moments that truly capture the spirit of Christmas.

We were delighted to welcome the children from St Philips Primary School for a lovely afternoon of Christmas singing. Their cheerful voices brought smiles to faces and filled the home with festive magic. A heartfelt thank you goes to Major Coachways Limited for providing transport and for the thoughtful little gifts for our residents, which added an extra layer of kindness to the day.

Another highlight of the season was our Christmas party, which was a wonderful celebration enjoyed by all. Residents came together to enjoy a glass of wine, festive nibbles and live music from the fabulous Anton Hemming. Spirits were high as uplifting Christmas favourites were played, including the much loved Driving Home for Christmas, which had many joining in and soaking up the festive atmosphere. It was a joyful occasion full of smiles, laughter and Christmas cheer.

We have also been grateful to Rowley Hall Primary for sharing their beautiful Christmas carols with us. Their calm and thoughtful singing created a truly festive atmosphere throughout the home and was enjoyed by residents and staff alike.

As Christmas draws ever closer, the home continues to buzz with festive excitement. Decorations sparkle, familiar songs fill the air and there is a real sense of anticipation for the days ahead. Each shared experience helps create lasting memories and reminds us just how special this time of year is.

Christmas at Portway House is about connection, kindness and celebrating together. We are thankful to everyone who helps make this season so meaningful for our residents and look forward to sharing more festive moments very soon.
