A Season of community, creativity and celebration

There is always something happening here, and the past few weeks have given us plenty to celebrate, from welcoming a new resident representative to getting creative in the kitchen, enjoying the rewards of our garden.

We are pleased to introduce Barbara Smith as our new resident representative, a role that gives residents an important voice in the life of their home. Barbara will support residents in making sure their needs, wishes and views are heard, bringing their feedback to our residents' and relatives' Meetings so that their experiences and ideas can help shape what happens here.

Barbara will also soon become involved in our interview process, giving residents another opportunity to have their say and helping us ensure that the people joining our team understand what matters to those who live here. We are delighted to have Barbara taking on this role and look forward to seeing the positive contribution she will make.

Meanwhile, our master bakers have been hard at work once again, mixing, tasting, refining and chatting their way through different flavours and toppings, all in the name of creating the perfect cupcake. Baking is always a popular activity, and there is something particularly satisfying about seeing a selection of homemade treats come together after everyone has played their part.

Our garden has also been giving us plenty to smile about, and we are in awe of our very own harvest! There is something so lovely about growing our own vegetables and watching all that care and patience eventually turn into something we can enjoy, and we are feeling very proud of ourselves today.

There was definitely a little round of applause deserved for everyone involved, because growing your own produce takes plenty of patience, care and teamwork, making the final harvest all the more rewarding.

And with Christmas now on the horizon, we are also getting ready for our Christmas Market on 18 December 2026, from 10am until 12.30pm. We would love to welcome donations and any stallholders who would like to come along, with the hope of bringing our local community together for a festive morning.

Finally, we are inviting families, friends and visitors to get involved with the Superior Care Staff Awards 2026. Voting boxes are available in reception, so if there is a member of our team who you feel deserves recognition for their hard work, kindness or dedication, please take a moment to cast your vote.

From giving residents a stronger voice to baking, gardening and planning festive events, there is always something to get involved in, and we love seeing our home filled with creativity, conversation and a real sense of community.
