Staff graduate with flying care colours
We have recently celebrated the first ever successful graduation of our internal staff development initiative, Flourish.
Launched earlier this year, the initiative was designed to empower staff across the Group’s four care homes in the West Midlands and Worcestershire, offering targeted, in-house training to continuously raise care standards and support on-going professional growth.
The first cohort of team members all completed the 12-week Nurse Assistants Course, marking the first major milestone for the programme and Cllr Maria Crompton, for the Tividale ward in the West Midlands, was in attendance to hand out the certificates of excellence and applaud the individuals.
She comments: “I am so proud of the women who gave up so much of their own time to complete the Flourish course. They all came up with such innovative, caring and thoughtful ideas which I’m sure will be implemented across the homes in the coming months.
“I applaud the management team at Superior Care who have enabled and encouraged staff to attain these awards of continued excellence.”
Kim Young, Regional Director at Superior Care, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our first group of graduates. Flourish is all about helping our staff grow in confidence, skills, and ambition and their enthusiasm for care has really been demonstrated in the course work they have submitted and the presentations they prepared and delivered.
“This is the first of many steps in a longer journey and we want our staff to know they’re supported every step of the way, and that they have real opportunities to develop and as the name suggests, flourish within the Superior Care family.”
Superior Care’s focus on internal progression and staff investment will further complement the Group’s already excellent staff retention rates and further courses under the Flourish training banner will be announced soon, continuing the Group’s commitment to nurturing talent and delivering outstanding person-centred care from within.
