Portway Head Housekeeper shares her views on a career in care

Here at Superior Care, we've gained some valuable insights into what a career in care entails, as part of our #LoveforCare campaign.

We've recently had the pleasure of talking to our team member Natalie, 35, who is our head housekeeper at Portway House, in Oldbury.

On a daily basis, she ensures deep cleaning schedules are adhered to in residents' bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and kitchen to ensure the home sustains optimum levels of a comfortable environment for our residents and staff. 

With care work in her family, it was a natural steppingstone for her and although initially a little daunting, it's been the best decision she's ever made, and she's now set for life in this profession.

Commenting, she said ‘Now I’m here at Portway House, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I absolutely love my job, love my residents and love being here.’

‘I think it can be scary to some people at first but if you have a caring nature, I think you should go for it. It’s something I never thought I’d ever do – but this is me now, I’m set.’
