The first ever Christmas Market was hosted by the care home and proved to be a resounding success, bringing together residents, staff, friends, and family in a celebration of warmth and community.

Stalls adorned with delectable food, charming craft items, and thoughtful Christmas gifts created a festive wonderland and what made this event truly special was the personal touch – each stall was hosted by dedicated staff members and friends and family of residents, added a sense of familiarity and heart-warming connection to the market.

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as residents and their loved ones flocked to explore the offerings and the delightful array of goods showcased the talent and creativity of those involved, providing a unique shopping experience for all.

Beyond the joyous festivities, the true spirit of giving shone through as the event raised more than £150 for the residents’ fund dedicated to enhancing the lives of our dear and beloved residents. This fund ensures that residents can partake in enriching activities and experiences, fostering a sense of community and well-being.

Faye Gailey, Home Manager at Portway House, expressed her elation at the event's success, stating, "It was a great success, especially as this was the first one, we had hosted. The positive response from our residents and their families was heart-warming and we're thrilled to announce that the Christmas Market will now become a regular feature in our line-up of festive activities for the local community and our residents."
